I'm Back!

Hello everyone!
I am officially back!  And I am so excited to catch up on all our fabulous blogs, and see whats going on with all of you!  I had a wonderful time in Columbus with Mark, I don't think I could have asked for a better weekend.  It was just the type of weekend I needed before starting this crazy week, a week where I have been getting up at 5 AM everyday!  Hello real world and hello 9-5 job (or in my case 7-3)!  More on the job later, lets talk about the fun stuff!  A weekend update (I know a little late, but better late then never)!

First off,  did everyone have a safe and wonderful halloween?  Dress up like anything crazy?  The only Halloween thing Mark and I really did was carve pumpkins (and well go to a bar dressed up for about 5 minutes) and bake pumpkin seeds.

But lets back track to Friday!  Friday Mark and I met up with my lovely friend Ashley of Places to Go Things to Buy and her hubby.
We met Ash and her husband "Doc" (as she refers to him) for a little wine tasting.  What better way to spend a Friday evening then with great company, fabulous wine, and FREE samples.  Wine tasting in a giant gourmet grocery store is my new favorite thing!  The four of us then ventured to a little wine shop by Mark's apartment for yet more wine, and more fabulous conversation!  Since Ohio State was playing the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday a few of Mark's friends from high school were coming into town for the game.  Mark and I decided to meet up with a few of them for a late night drink (this is where our 5 minute bar appearance comes in)!  I was a little to tired to stay out, plus guys in creepy masks kinda scare me!

Saturday was probably my favorite day out of the whole weekend!  After an early morning run, a delicious breakfast Mark picked up, and surprise coffee (he is so thoughtful) we were off to explore Grandview Heights.  Mark and I had a blast walking hand in hand and exploring the little shops of Grandview.  We simply wandered from store to store talking and pointing things out, the only thing that mattered to us was that we were together. We couldn't have asked for better weather, it was the perfect fall day.  A few highlights from the afternoon outing:
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Frozen yogurt, does it get any better then this?  I don't think so (well  red velvet, carmel, and cake batter frozen yogurt are high on my list too)!
Adorable earrings Mark bought me in a little boutique called Objects for the Home.  I fell in love with so many things in this little boutique. If you live in the Columbus area go check it out!
Amazing smelling candles from the Candle Lab (I think Mark and I smelled them all).
There hot chocolate candle had me drooling it smelled so good!
And last but not least a hand on diamond lesson from an adorable gentleman.  He wanted to show us the true beauty of diamonds, and happened to be the owner of the Jewelry store.  Mark and I both agreed that meeting this man, and learning about the diamonds was one of the favorite stops of the day.  I guess it pays to take time and talk to people!

Saturday evening we were joined by Mark's parents for a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant called Spagio!  The food was simply amazing.  Spagio's offers European and Pacific Rim Cuisine, and with a chef who began his career at 14 (not to mention has cooked in 11 different countries) you know the food has to be pretty darn good!  From the Lobster, Shrimp and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and the Wood-fired Vegetable Appetizers down to our entrees (think fresh Seafood Stew, Pork Chop, Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Ravioli and a fresh fish of the day) everything was delicious!

Plus they have a cozy wine bar I am just dying to try the next time I am in Columbus (which is hopefully soon)!
Of course we ended our night with some wonderful Apple Slump Mark's mom brought topped with Jeni's Ice Cream (hello brown butter almond brittle ice cream)

and watching Ohio State win their homecoming!

Sunday was lazy and spent creating these masterpieces!

Any guesses which one is mine?
And making this fabulous dish for dinner!
Recipe to come I promise, you will just have to be patient!!
After a wonderful weekend I was sad to see Monday arrive (because it meant leaving).  But Mark and I made the best of it before I had to leave for Minnesota.
I hope you are all having a wonderful week!  Its almost friday, and as always remember to live Happily Ever Healthy!
